🌿 A Surprising First: Mowing the Lawn at 38! 🌿
Today, I experienced a major first in my life at the age of 38 - I mowed the lawn for the very first time! 🙌 Let me share this unexpected adventure with you.
As my husband and I both work full time, we've always been pretty good at splitting up household chores.
One task he usually handles is mowing the lawn. However, life had other plans for us recently.
My husband is currently dealing with a herniated disk, and unfortunately, he can't mow the lawn at the moment.
Now, we all know how strict HOAs can be, and the last thing we want is a "Nasty-gram" from them, right?
So, there I was, faced with the challenge of mowing the lawn for the first time in my life. 💪
As I mentioned last week, I was recently laid off, so it didn't seem prudent to spend money on a lawn care service when we have a lawn mower sitting in the garage.
Instead, I decided to embrace this newfound "free time" and use it as an opportunity to explore something new.
Mowing the lawn became my break from the grueling routine of endlessly searching job boards and applying for positions.
It's fascinating how life can present us with unexpected opportunities for growth and self-care.
During this challenging phase of unemployment, I wanted to find a way to cope with the grueling job hunt while trying something completely out of my comfort zone.
So, I'm curious, LinkedIn fam: Have any of you experienced a layoff and taken up new activities or hobbies or chores for self-care or as a way to cope with the job search? 🧐
I'd love to hear your stories and insights! Let's support each other and share how we navigate through life's twists and turns.
