Jobs To Be Done Research

We interviewed 6-12 customers from each our Internal and External Use Cases, that had purchased, upsold or cancelled in the past 6-12 months to understand what drove the buying decision. Clients included in the group of interviews were Microsoft, Hulu, Nationwide, Mercado Libre, Pixar and RingCentral.

My Role

  • Worked with our Chief Technology Officer and The ReWired Group to interview all the clients.

  • Responsible for coding all of the responses to determine the distinctive “Jobs” for both use cases.

  • Used research to to determine Product Market Fit and develop a Product Strategy accordingly.

  • Built out job specific marketing collateral for the AnswerHub Website.

Results

  • A new AnswerHub website with Demand-Sided marketing materials focusing on Solutions for Struggling Moments

  • Eight new features, enhancements and technical integrations in both 2021 and 2022 that were targeted towards the distinctive jobs to be done.

JumpStart Program

WhatCounts' newly launched Onboarding program JumpStart, serving the Finance, Utility and Publishing industries. JumpStart gets companies running Automated Engagement campaigns without the headache of a lengthy onboarding process. We offer a new programmatic integration with customer accounts PRE-CONFIGURED with curated content (creative, templates, segmentation and automated workflows) specific to our client’s industry 

My Role

  • Created all content for all Product Marketing (Blog, Various Landing Pages and Digital content)

  • Worked collectively with the Agency team to finalize all creative assets for digital assets.

  • Determined Pricing Structure for Onboarding Program

  • Built out training materials for internal teams to sell and support the new JumpStart program.

Results

  • Increased product stick factor

  • Provided a fully comprehensive onboarding program for three ideal markets: Utilities, Publishing and Finance.

  • Increased renewals and retention in these three industries increased by 30%.

Integration Partnership

RegEd’s Personal Securities Accounts (PSA) Manager, allows our client base of broker dealers and investment advisors to disclose all personal investment accounts that they hold. FIS Protegent Personal Trading Assistant provides surveillance solutions to provide pre-clearance support for trade requests and rule configuration to reduce risky trading activity. Built relationship and developed integration between RegEd and FIS to provide a powerful personal trading account management and surveillance product offering.

My Role

  • Manage relationship with integration partner

  • Collaborated with both integration partner and internal stakeholders to develop the requirements of the various data elements and data feeds that would be sent between the two applications

  • Define the product strategy and own product roadmap development and execution, to maximize revenue growth, solve customer and business problems, meet market demands, and remain competitive with other offerings.

Results

  • 3+ new clients ready to be implemented in first month

  • Increased initial revenue by $550,000+

  • Reduced Compliance Risk caused by trading violations

  • Increased product stick factor

New Product Launch

RegEd, Inc. is a Financial Compliance software company that allows Broker Dealers and Investment Advisors to remain compliant with FINRA and SEC regulations. As product manager, I manage the Conflicts of Interest Product Suite, which is made up of four products. Our clients have to disclose all outside business activities, personal investment accounts and gifts/ entertainment/ political contributions that they give or receive. I have been focused on building out a new application catered to gifts and entertainment as a major strategic initiative.

My Role

  • Define the product strategy and own short-term and long-term product roadmap development and execution, to maximize revenue growth, solve customer and business problems, meet market demands, and remain competitive with other offerings.

  • Lead development and Go To Market strategies to bring a new product to market.

  • Manage cross-disciplinary product development and QA teams to ensure execution of new functionality to meet strategic and tactical product goals by providing clear and concise requirements.

  • Support sales to develop strategy for key deals addressing buying decisions, decision makers, and competitive landscape.

Results

  • Secured 6 contracted clients to be implemented upon launch increasing revenue by $500K+.

  • Implemented Agile processes into a Waterfall environment to improve efficiency in the project.

UI Refresh

Worked as a consultant with LexisNexis leading a cross-functional team ranging from designers, researchers, developers, planning, marketing and account managers to build out a new, responsive UI and mobile application of InterAction, the CRM used by AmLaw100 Law Firms. 

​My Role

  • Responsible for implementing new customizable and ad hoc reporting functionality to platform 

  • Collaborated with UX to conduct market research interviews and surveys, using results to better define product roadmap and product feature designs.

  • Provide a voice for the customer in the development process 

  • Document requirements and acceptance criteria for use by development, UX and QA

  • Drive engineering execution of product roadmap through agile/scrum development processes

  • Document product behavior for internal and external users 

  • Provide technical support to sales team 

Results

  • Recruited 25+ customers for Beta/ Usability Testing and Client Advisory Board. 

  • Implemented a cross-functional product release planning process that allowed sales, marketing, tech writing, training, and support to be ready for the release of new product functionality.

  • Trained customers in new product functional including workflows and advanced reporting leading to increased product usage and customer satisfaction.

New Vertical

Launched the Webstore Amplifier Platform which allows clients to send their webstore inventory through ChannelAdvisor’s ecommerce platform to make regular updates to their BigCommerce or Shopify webstore. Created project plans and feature release planning and owned delivery from milestones to the final product. Ran Worked collaboratively with the creative and strategy teams.

  • Defined product roadmap and requirements, managed backlog prioritization and lead development efforts.

  • Served as conduit between engineers and product managers and developed customer relationships.

  • Worked on a cross functional Agile development team, releasing new software every month and documented requirements and acceptance criteria for use by development and QA.

  • Documented product behavior for internal and external users, and served as subject matter expert for product lines I owned/ managed. 

Results

  • Developed new Webstore Amplifier Platform to house two new webstore integrations 

  • Allowed for sunset/transition of clients from legacy product

  • Doubled client base within the first year of general availability
