👓 A Day at the Eye Doctor: A Lean Product Playbook Perspective on Customer Delight! 👓

Today's trip to the eye doctor turned out to be more than just a regular check-up.

As I set out to pick a new pair of glasses, I found myself reflecting on the principles outlined in
Dan Olsen's "The Lean Product Playbook" and how they relate to the importance of delighting customers as a product manager.

👓 Must-Haves:
While exploring the extensive collection of eyeglasses, it became evident that certain features were non-negotiable "Must-Haves" for customers.

Clear vision, precise prescription, and comfortable fit were the essentials that formed the foundation of a satisfactory eyewear experience.

Just like in product management, we must identify the core features that address our customers' basic needs and ensure they are flawlessly executed to meet their expectations.

👓 Performers:
As I continued my eyeglass quest, I stumbled upon frames that boasted impressive additional features like scratch-resistant coatings and lightweight materials.

These were the "Performers" – features that provide added value and elevate the product experience.

As product managers, we should prioritize identifying such performance-enhancing elements that differentiate our products from competitors and offer a unique selling proposition.

👓 Delighters:
Among the plethora of eyeglasses, some frames and lens enhancements went beyond expectations.

They added a touch of magic to the experience, such as stylish designs that made a bold statement or smart glasses with innovative functionalities such as Blue Glare technology to help with sitting in front of a computer screen for several hours a day.

In product management, we must aim for Delighters - those unexpected wow moments that create memorable experiences and foster customer loyalty.

Delighters might be novel features, delightful user interactions, or creative designs that make our products stand out from the crowd.

By focusing on Must-Haves, identifying Performers, and sprinkling Delighters, we can create products that truly resonate with our customers and bring delight to their lives.

Let's apply these lean and customer-centric practices to build products that not only meet their needs but also exceed their expectations, making every interaction a truly delightful one!
